Yazid Kheloufi est un artiste plasticien et graphiste, né en 1963 à Hamam Boughrara, en Algérie.

L’écriture chez Yazid est une source inépuisable de créations, que celle-ci soit envisagée comme transmission de sens ou bien transmission de formes ou bien encore, comme dans les œuvres de Yazid Kheloufi, héritier de milliers et de milliers d’« écriveurs » depuis l’aube des civilisations, de « matérialisation » de réflexions, de pensées, d’histoires vécues ou rêvées, de mise en beauté de la beauté de l’esprit, l’une comme l’autre se nourrissant mutuellement. L’argile fut la matière première des tablettes des littératures akkadiennes, babyloniennes, assyriennes… Notre artiste algérien se situe clairement dans la lignée de scribes de Babylone, d’Assur, de Ebla, de Mari, d’Ougarit, de Ninive… Yazid Kheloufi est un éclat mésopotamien au cœur de l’Algérie. Du cunéiforme aux lettres arabes… Avec lui, la conscience devient argileuse, en même temps qu’elle s’éveille au Ciel.
